Abstract

<jats:p>The article analyzes the conceptual models and processes of formation of regional and civic identity in the post-Soviet countries of Central Asia. The historical and political prerequisites, institutional and socio-cultural factors influencing the formation and development of a regional and civic community are considered. Special attention is paid to the interaction of socio-economic, ethnic and civic identity models, the role of state and civil society institutions. A comparative analysis of the approaches of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan to the formation of a unified regional and civic identity has been carried out.</jats:p>
