Abstract
<jats:p>Mahmut Kashkari’s work «Diwani lugat it-Turk» is a common treasure of the Turkish people and a classical heritage of related countries. The article mentions foreign and Kazakh scientists who studied this work and analyzed it in detail, and offered their critical opinions about the dictionary. The commandments given in the «Turkish Dictionary» are of great importance in laying the foundations of the «Good Society» mentioned by the scholar Al-Farabi. «Dictionary» includes more than two hundred poems, three hundred proverbs, sayings and similes. In the main part, Mahmut Kashkari’s «Dictionary of Turkish Languages» analyzed more than 40 proverbs and verses about the manners and moral qualities of the Turkish people. In the article, the difference between proverbs and language usages, which are often used among the people, and proverbs in Kashkari’s work is comprehensively studied and analyzed. Similar usages are compared and meanings are defined.</jats:p>
