Abstract

Ottoman scholars taught Ibn Hajars treatise on hadith methodology, Nukhbat al-fikar, in their madrasas and wrote numerous works about his books. One of these studies was the Gloss and the Translation of Mehmed b. Omar from Iskilip. He lived in Amasya and Iskilip in 18th century. Then he migrated to Istanbul for scentific purposes and began living there. Having seen the interest of his students for hadith methodology, especially for Nukhbat al-fikar, Mehmed b. Omar decided to write an understandable translation and gloss about this treatise. In this book, we will try to make an edition critique of Mehmed b. Omars translation and the gloss which was written the in the 18th century, and then we will try to explain his life and his books respectively.
