Abstract
The article examines methodological approaches to teaching the Russian verb conjugation system to Azerbaijani-speaking learners. The relevance of the study is determined by the high frequency of grammatical errors caused by interlingual interference and structural differences between the Russian and Azerbaijani morphological systems. Special attention is given to the analysis of typical difficulties in acquiring categories of person, number, verb conjugation types, as well as irregular and heteroconjugated verbs. Based on teaching practice, the main groups of errors and their underlying causes are identified. The study proposes methodological solutions aimed at improving teaching effectiveness, including communicative approaches, algorithmization of grammatical material, visualization techniques, and the use of digital tools. The results demonstrate that the integration of traditional and innovative methods contributes to the formation of stable grammatical competence and reduces the influence of language interference. The study concludes that systematic consideration of learners' native language is essential in teaching the Russian verb system.
