Abstract
<jats:p>The article considers the strategic task of modern education - the formation of a personality with initiative, creative thinking, the ability to make independent decisions, the ability to choose a professional direction. The new model of teaching the Kyrgyz language, emerging in the conditions of modernization of education, is designed to address the issues of personal development on the basis of teaching thinking skills, cognitive search processes that ensure the application of acquired skills and knowledge in a new situation. The change in the content of education consists in a gradual transition from subject-specific activities based on mastering the basics of sciences, knowledge, skills and abilities to the orientation on mastering by each student (taking into account the peculiarities of his/her development) of cumulatively universal skills. Building the content of education taking into account modern trends in the development of scientific knowledge leads to the need to emphasize not only concepts as the basic units of assimilation, but also those cognitive tools that help the student to independently acquire knowledge through the mastery of intellectual actions that develop thinking processes.</jats:p>
