Abstract
<jats:p>Plant virology is a vital branch of plant pathology that focuses on the study of viruses affecting agricultural and horticultural crops. Viral diseases are responsible for significant reductions in crop yield, quality, and economic returns worldwide, making their understanding essential for sustainable crop production. This book provides a fundamental and advanced aspects of plant virology, beginning with the historical development, economic importance, and general characteristics of plant viruses. Detailed discussions on virus morphology, composition, structure, nomenclature, classification, origin, and evolution establish a strong conceptual foundation for understanding viral diversity.
