Abstract
This article comprehensively analyzes the physicochemical properties of technical carbon (carbon black) and its industrial applications. The functional role of technical carbon in the rubber, electrical, catalytic and pigment industries is considered. The technology for obtaining technical carbon of the TU-5 brand with the participation of sulfanol surfactant and chelating reagents is developed and the mechanism of its dispersion and purification is substantiated. The maximum separation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons under optimal conditions (T = 70 °C, sulfanol = 0.02 g/l) is determined. The structural and physical characteristics of the obtained sample are evaluated for compliance with industrial standards.
