Abstract
<jats:p>The poet is the first to experience the mystery of the emergence of their own voice. It cannot be controlled or summoned at will; it arrives when and how it chooses. Is it a form of linguistic mysticism, or the manifestation of an unknown impulse or force? The poetic voice is both impersonal—it does not belong entirely to the poet—and singular, as if it came from an other within the self. Writing is therefore a transformation of an ever-living speech, continually reappearing in new forms through translation, reinterpretation, critical reading, and reappropriation. This volume brings together the lectures, discussions, and readings devoted to the question of voice in poetry during the Rencontres poétiques en Normandie, organized in 2023 and 2024 by the Universities of Rouen Normandy and Le Havre (ERIAC and GRIC research centers), with the collaboration of CELIS at the University of Clermont Auvergne.</jats:p>
