Abstract
The monograph examines the features of service, family life, household management, and everyday life of an official in the 1720s and 1730s, who belonged to the middle ranks of the Russian bureaucracy. The study is based on the documents of Mikhail Osipovich Dudin, who served as the chief secretary of the Holy Synod from 1731 to 1736. When he was arrested in 1736, his archive was confiscated by the Secret Chancellery. Along with the documents compiled during the investigation in the office itself, Dudin's archive provides a comprehensive overview of various aspects of his service and personal life.
