Abstract
<jats:p>Surgery and Anaesthesia: A Holistic Approach to the Surgical Patient is a work focused on the comprehensive assessment of the surgical patient from a multidisciplinary perspective, in which surgery and anaesthesiology are presented as complementary pillars of perioperative care. The book addresses patient care not only in terms of the surgical or anaesthetic procedure itself, but also in terms of preoperative assessment, clinical optimisation, intraoperative safety, pain management, functional recovery and the prevention of complications.</jats:p>
