Abstract

Varicocele in adolescents is the most common condition. One of the main causes of its occurrence is aorto-mesenteric compression of the left renal vein. This article describes a case of spontaneous recovery of a patient with left-sided varicocele associated with Nutcracker Syndrome. One of the factors contributing to recovery was an increase in the adolescent’s body weight. The authors note that varicose dilation of the veins in the scrotum in children is a result of extravasal obstruction rather than damage to the valve apparatus. Thus, to improve the management of adolescents with this pathology, further prospective cohort studies are required to develop additional criteria indicating the need for surgical treatment.
