Abstract
<jats:p>Статья посвящена анализу тезиса о том, что соборность (кафоличность) Церкви находится под угрозой из-за феномена параллельных национальных юрисдикций. Этот тезис рассматривается с точки зрения святоотеческого понимания кафоличности Церкви, прежде всего творений святого Игнатия Антиохийского. Во второй части статьи рассмотрен историко-социологический контекст, в котором сформулирован восьмой канон I Вселенского собора, устанавливающий, что в одном городе не должно быть более одного епископа. Акцент в статье сделан на конкретной роли Церкви в византийской политике ассимиляции этнических меньшинств и на природе античного города.</jats:p> <jats:p>This paper discusses the thesis that the catholicity of the Church is threatened by the phenomenon of parallel national jurisdictions. This thesis will be scrutinized from the perspective of the understanding of catholicity of the fathers of the Church, primarily of the saint Ignatius of Antioch. In the second part of the paper, we will discuss the historic-sociological context in which the eight canon of the First Ecumenical Council, which says that in one city there must not be more than one bishop, was formulated, during which analysis the emphasis will be put on the specific role of the Church in the byzantine politics of assimilation of ethnic minorities and on the nature of an antique city</jats:p>
