Abstract
<jats:p>The article examines the features of horizontal well drilling at the Balgimbayev oil field located within the Precaspian oil and gas province. The relevance of the study is обусловлена the need to improve the efficiency of oil field development and to ensure more complete recovery of hydrocarbon resources from productive reservoirs. The purpose of the work is to analyze the geological and technical drilling conditions and to evaluate the effectiveness of applying horizontal drilling technology at this field. The study considers the geological structure of the field, the lithological composition of productive horizons, and the main characteristics of reservoirs. The conditions of well drilling, well design, as well as the drilling equipment and technological solutions used in the construction of horizontal wellbores are analyzed. Special attention is paid to the advantages of using horizontal wells in the development of oil reservoirs, including increased well production rates, expansion of the reservoir drainage area, reduction of produced water cut, and improvement of the oil recovery factor. The conducted analysis shows that the application of modern horizontal drilling technologies makes it possible to significantly increase the efficiency of field development, improve the technical and economic performance of well operation, and ensure more rational use of hydrocarbon reserves. The obtained results can be used in the design and optimization of development systems for similar oil fields.</jats:p>
