Abstract
The aim of the study is to conduct zootechnical monitoring of mares of the Kazakh breed. Kazakh horse breed of the South-East (farms “Ertai” in Zhambyl district, “Shaushen” in Turar Ryskulov district, and “Shili-Karyn” in Bayzak district of Zhambyl region). The study applied generally accepted zootechnical methods for determining animal origin, live weight, and milk productivity of mares. A comprehensive evaluation of Kazakh breed mares was carried out in accordance with the Instruction for horse bonitation (2014). Experimental groups were formed using the pair-analog method (Baimukanov et al., 2024). Statistical data processing was performed using standard statistical analysis methods with Microsoft Excel 97 software. The conducted studies showed that under the conditions of the “Shili-Karyn” farm, the live weight gain of colts was 121.9 kg, corresponding to a milk yield of mares of 1828.50 kg. Over six months, the live weight gain of fillies was 107.4 kg, corresponding to 1611.00 kg of milk yield. At the “Shaushen” farm, colts showed a live weight gain of 129.8 kg in the first six months, corresponding to a milk yield of 1947.00 kg. For fillies, the gain was 123.3 kg, or 1849.50 kg of milk yield. At the “Ertai” farm, colts increased live weight by 139.6 kg, corresponding to 2094.00 kg of milk yield. Fillies from 3 days to 6 months of age gained 131.1 kg, corresponding to a milk yield of 1966.50 kg.
