Abstract
The genealogical structure of the Herford breed herds of Stavropol Belokopanskoe JSC and Rodina SPK (collective farm) is represented mainly by descendants of the ancestors of the main genealogical lines of breeding bulls: Forder Banner Y191, Square-D Pf Timeline 237W, Glenlees 121t Tallu 65x, Enhancer 2D ANA 23801448 - Canadian breeding and M. Duty ANA 41130434 – American reproduction. Breeding and breeding work is aimed at creating an improved group of Hereford cattle using zootechnical and molecular genetic methods. In terms of live weight, the breeding bulls exceeded the target breeding parameter by 15-260 kg, the requirements of the elite-record class by 20-230 kg, the target parameter in height in the rump by 3-18 cm, and the herd peers by 6-28 cm. The comprehensive index based on the results of the assessment of the descendants of the bulls-the founders of the genealogical lines was 102-117. The frequency of the desired genotypes varied from 10.0% CC of the CAPN1 gene to 19% VV of the GH gene. The frequency of occurrence of the "desirable" C allele of the CAPN1 gene in the population was 0.27, which is 0.46 less than the G allele. The frequency of the V and T alleles of the GH and TG5 genes was 0.36 and 0.30 and was lower than the frequency of the L and C alleles by 0.28 and 0.40. For the further breeding process, 17 bull calves carrying selectively significant alleles were selected, 6 heads were excluded due to the absence of desirable mutations.
