Abstract
<jats:p> Between January and July 2026, the <jats:ext-link xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" ext-link-type="uri" xlink:href="https://continuousfoundation.org">Continuous Science Foundation (CSF)</jats:ext-link> , <jats:ext-link xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" ext-link-type="uri" xlink:href="https://prereview.org">PREreview</jats:ext-link> , and more than 60 researchers, infrastructure builders, publishers, and community members came together as the <jats:ext-link xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" ext-link-type="uri" xlink:href="https://articles.continuousfoundation.org/articles/modular-peer-review">Modular Peer Review Working Group</jats:ext-link> . Together, we explored a simple but important question: <jats:italic>What might peer review look like if it evolved alongside the research process, rather than centering only on the final paper?</jats:italic> </jats:p>
