Abstract
<jats:p>The article examines the activities of female artists in the Karabakh literary environment, one of the important events in 19th-century Azerbaijani literature, and in particular the creative phenomenon of Ashug Pari. Ashug Pari's poetic heritage is analyzed in terms of both its foundation in the traditions of folk poetry and its enrichment with new aesthetic values. Issues such as the formation of the female “I”, spiritual independence, free thought and poetic expression of national self-awareness are brought to the fore in her poetry. The study explains Pari's creativity in connection with the socio-cultural context of the 19th century, the role of the Karabakh literary environment and the formation of the female ashug tradition. Ashug Pari is evaluated as the artistic and aesthetic starting point of women's creativity in Azerbaijani poetry, the pioneer of the stage of renewal in national poetic thought.
