Abstract
<jats:p>Abstract: The article examines, from a scholarly perspective, the place and significance of the creative heritage of Ashig Alasgar, an outstanding representative of Azerbaijani ashug poetry, within the national literary and intellectual system. The study highlights as a key characteristic the deep connection of his poetry with the spirit of the people, national and moral values, nature, humanity, and the concept of the homeland. It analyzes Ashig Alasgar’s ability to draw upon the traditions of classical ashug art and elevate them to a new poetic stage, as well as his exceptional mastery of improvisational poetic creation, richness of language and expression, and ethical– mystical worldview. The article substantiates the literary-aesthetic and historical value of the poet’s works, which reflect the ideals of beauty, love, morality, courage, and humanism. At the same time, it emphasizes the important role of preserving and promoting Ashig Alasgar’s heritage in the contemporary period by the state and society, as well as its significance in the formation of national identity</jats:p>
