Abstract
Abstract: The integration of sustainable development principles into all sectors of the economy has become a necessity against the backdrop of global climate change. The article analyzes the current status, existing challenges, and problems associated with the application of green technologies in Azerbaijan's tourism industry, which is a priority sector for the non-oil economy. The research investigates the use of renewable energy sources in hospitality and recreation zones, waste management issues, and ecological certification. The results indicate that despite the existence of strategic goals at the state level (particularly the declaration of “Karabakh and East Zangezur as a Green Energy Zone”), high initial investment costs, infrastructural shortcomings, and a low level of ecological awareness are the main barriers. The article provides scientifically substantiated recommendations for solving these problems.
