<jats:p>This article provides a scientific analysis of the economic essence, structural features, and role of tourism and recreational services in the national economic system, focusing on the fact that, despite the high tourism potential, its impact on the country's economic development is relatively low. The article proposes and discusses the implementation of assessment methods that allow for cross-sector and international comparisons of Uzbekistan's tourism and recreational potential within the national reporting system, a pressing issue in the tourism sector.</jats:p>
