Abstract
<jats:p>The article is devoted to the legislative instruments for consultation with local self-government bodies by the central authorities of the Republic of Armenia, the resulting legal opportunities, and the identification of existing institutional foundations, as well as the presentation of solutions. The purpose of the article is to study and analyze both international and domestic legislative regulations governing the field of local self-government, the Armenian and international realities of consultation mechanisms between central authorities and local self-government bodies, as well as the law enforcement practice, in order to reveal and identify the problems and gaps in the legislation of the Republic of Armenia in this sphere, to present the main directions for their resolution, and to make recommendations. The article emphasizes the necessity of introducing various forms of consultation by the executive authorities with local self-government bodies in the Republic of Armenia. A key focus is placed on the study of legislative acts, while also providing references to the norms of international law and to the resolutions and recommendations adopted by the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe concerning Armenia.</jats:p>
