Abstract
The world of management is no longer confined to neatly drawn boundaries. The silos that once separated finance from marketing, technology from human resources, or strategy from ethics have steadily eroded, giving way to an interconnected landscape where decisions in one domain ripple across all others. ‘Managing in a Dynamic World: Cross-Functional Perspectives’ is born out of this recognition that effective management today demands not just depth within a discipline, but breadth across them. This edited volume brings together scholars, educators, and practitioners from diverse institutional backgrounds across India, united by a shared commitment to understanding management in its full complexity. The chapters assembled here span a wide spectrum, ranging from the disruptive influence of artificial intelligence on behavioral finance and consumer trust, to the nuanced ethics of marketing, the evolving imperatives of digital branding, and the strategic dimensions of climate-related financial risk. Together, they reflect the multidisciplinary reality that contemporary managers must navigate. Readers will find in these pages both conceptual frameworks and applied insights. Several chapters interrogate emerging phenomena, such as the psychology of AI adoption or the mechanics of building brand advocacy through digital communities. Others revisit foundational management concerns, including people, processes, and resources, through contemporary lenses that encompass Indian institutional contexts and the rapidly growing online education sector. The inclusion of student contributors alongside seasoned academics is a deliberate editorial choice, affirming that emerging scholarly voices are not merely welcome in management discourse but are essential to its continued vitality. The editors express sincere gratitude to each contributing author for their intellectual rigor, patience through the editorial process, and commitment to collaborative scholarship. Appreciation is also extended to the readers who engage critically with this work, for it is through practice and informed critique that ideas realize their fullest value. It is hoped that this volume serves as both a scholarly reference and a source of intellectual inspiration, for students entering the field of management, for practitioners seeking reflective insight, and for researchers pursuing new directions in cross-functional inquiry.
