Abstract
<jats:p>“From Scope to Strategy: FEES and Its Role in Contemporary Dysphagia Care” explores the pivotal role of Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) in modern dysphagia management. This chapter presents a clear and comprehensive overview of FEES methodology, patient preparation, indications, and interpretation, emphasizing its unique advantages over other instrumental assessments such as the Videofluoroscopic Swallowing Study (VFSS). It discusses how FEES findings guide individualized clinical decision-making, diet recommendations, and therapy planning while promoting safe swallowing and reducing aspiration risk. The chapter highlights multidisciplinary collaboration and its positive impact on patient outcomes. Emerging innovations – high-definition imaging, portable systems, tele-FEES, and artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted analysis – are also examined, offering clinicians practical insights for evidence-based practice and future applications.</jats:p>
