Abstract

European inland navigation law is built on three distinct regulatory frameworks, developed by the Rhine Commission, the Danube Commission and the European Union. This book presents their foundations and offers concrete avenues for better coordination. It argues for a multi‑level governance model firmly rooted in the EU framework, aiming to simplify professional obligations and strengthen fair competition. Intended for readers interested in inland navigation law and EU–international organisation relations, the study draws on the author’s twenty years of experience with public authorities and professional bodies.
