Abstract

This work provides a comprehensive overview of the fundamentals of minority protection in Europe under international law, European law and constitutional law (general part). It focuses in particular on the Ladin and Friulian linguistic minorities in Italy and the Romansh-speaking community in Switzerland (special part). Against the backdrop of the geographical, historical, legal, and linguistic conditions of the Romansh, Dolomite-Ladin and Friulian language groups, the book highlights the current differences in the applicable standards of protection.
