Abstract
<p> How people produce and consume their food is up for debate. The industrialization and globalization of agriculture and food create ecological and social problems: climate crisis, species extinction, animal suffering, wage dumping, corporate power, and many more. This volume discusses past and present transformations of the agro-food system with regard to a sustainable future. In addition to scholars from various disciplines (sociology, geography, history, cultural anthropology, economics, etc.), representatives of art and civil society also have their say. In an inter- and transdisciplinary exchange, they explore alternative pathways beyond the mainstream. With contributions by Christian Dürnberger | Ulrich Ermann | Franziskus Forster | Ernst Langthaler | Stefan Mann | Marianne Penker | Markus Schermer | Sonja Stummerer | Barbara Wittmann This Title is also Available as Open Access. </p>
