Abstract

<p>Virtual worlds are regarded as ‘the next big thing’. The conference proceedings of JuWissDay 2024 at the German Research Institute for Public Administration Speyer shed light on this hype (especially around the metaverse) and what legal issues and regulatory tasks (future) virtual worlds will pose for the state and society. The book is aimed at students and academics as well as practitioners. It sets the first milestones in largely unexplored legal terrain: The contributions address important issues such as digital twins of natural persons or critical infrastructures, data protection and aspects of criminal law. With contributions by Dr. Alexander Brade, LL.M.
