Abstract

<p>Today, the increasing public institutionalisation and private commercialisation of medical services meets the equally increasing desire for self-determination over one's own lifestyle and body. Private health appears as an individual investment in one's own body, while ‘global health’ appears as a political responsibility. Digitalisation, AI and robotics could further intensify the potential conflicts between health self-determination and state-regulated healthcare and prevention. This volume explores the question of how much responsibility or obligation for health should be assumed by the individual and how much by public institutions and their experts. With contributions by Caroline Hammer | Mario Kropf | Henriette Löffler-Stastka | Ralf Lutz | Sabrina Mörkl | Corinna Schmohl | Dagmar Schulze-Heuling | Walter Schweidler | Willibald Stronegger | Jolana Wagner-Skacel | Sophie Wax | Martin Weiss</p>
