Abstract
The article presents the results of a study of the frequency of carbohydrate metabolism disorders and increased anxiety levels in 243 patients with microvascular angina due to coronary microvascular dysfunction. The comparison was conducted with 50 healthy participants. Increased general anxiety was defined as ≥8 points on the HADS and/or ≥21 points on the Taylor questionnaire and was confirmed during psychological counseling. To detect carbohydrate metabolism disorders, we determined the level of glycated hemoglobin in the blood serum of patients; carbohydrate metabolism disorders were determined at a glycated hemoglobin level ≥5.7%. Patients with microvascular angina due to coronary microvascular dysfunction have a significantly higher frequency of increased general anxiety (58.5% vs. 14.0%) and impaired carbohydrate metabolism (64.6% vs. 32.0%) compared to relatively healthy patients.
