Abstract
Images of religious structures have been preserved in various fields of folk art. These structures are generally recognizable by the sacred symbol on the dome - a cross or cres- cent moon. However, in preserved samples, especially in embroideries, such images have been preserved, in which there is a leaf or a tree of life instead of a cross or crescent on the dome. In our opinion, not only churches, mosques, but also pagan temples were embroidered with the tradition from ancient times to the beginning of the 20th century. These images, having lost their religious significance, act as secular structures, castles and are part of embroidered ornaments.
