Abstract
<jats:p>The article discusses existing methods and examples of developing new, more effective methods for gas extraction coal seams at the «Abayskaya» mine in the Karaganda coal basin. The high methane content of coal seams is the main obstacle to increasing production. Gas extraction coal seams reduces methane emissions in the mining area, and ventilation ensures that methane-air mixtures are diluted to safe concentrations. The use of gas drainage works during reservoir degassing becomes economically feasible due to their high efficiency.</jats:p>
