Abstract

<jats:p>Panos Terlemezyan made an undeniable contribution to Armenian realistic painting of the XIX–XX centuries. The artist received his education at the Académie Julian in Paris and, owing to his active public activities, proved a truly patriotic master. His Constantinople period played a significant role in his artistic career. In 1910, after the proclamation of the Ottoman Constitution, Terlemezyan arrived in Constantinople full of enthusiasm. He actively participated in art exhibitions held in the city. “Shant’’ journal, published in Constantinople in 1911-1915 and 1918-1919, devoted considerable attention to fine arts. In 1911, an article by Hrant Nazaryants dedicated to Terlemezyan was published in the journal.</jats:p>
