Abstract
This guidebook presents an integrated overview of the tectonic evolution, metallogeny, and ore deposit systems of western Tükiye, explored through the 2025 SEG Foundation Student Field Trip. Spanning from the ancient use of electrum as one of the first forms of currency to modern mining operations, the volume links regional geologic history with the development of precious and base metal deposits. It examines the progression of tectono-magmatic processes across the Tethyan belt and their control on porphyry and epithermal mineralization, supported by detailed case studies of key deposits. Combining regional synthesis with site-specific observations, the guide emphasizes the relationships between geology, exploration, and mining, providing a practical framework for understanding mineral systems in a dynamic geologic setting.
