Abstract
<jats:p>Статья посвящена английскому языку как нынешнему лингва франку, тенденциям и перспективам его развития и анализу его влияния на различные сферы жизни. Обобщаются социолингвистические и культурологические факторы, опосредующие распространение и применение английского языка в глобализационный период, освещаются сопутствующие риски языкового разнообразия в условиях расширения международной коммуникации. Исследуется историческая динамика распространения английского языка, специфика его институционализации и последствия языкового доминирования. Полученные результаты могут стать основой дальнейших исследований в сфере социолингвистики, глобалистики и лингвополитики и найдут применение в сфере языковой политики, при формировании образовательных программ для специалистов в области лингвистики, культурологии и международных отношений.</jats:p> <jats:p>This scientific article is devoted to the English language as a current lingua franca, trends and prospects for its development and analysis of its influence on various spheres of life. The work summarizes sociolinguistic and cultural factors mediating the spread and use of English in the globalization period, highlights the associated risks to linguistic diversity in the context of expanding international communication. The theoretical and practical significance of this work lies in the generalization of interdisciplinary approaches to assessing the English language as a phenomenon of international communication, as well as in understanding its influence on current sociolinguistic and cultural transformations. The work examines the historical dynamics of the spread of the English language, the specifics of its institutionalization and the consequences of language dominance. The results obtained can form the basis for further research in the field of sociolinguistics, globalistics and linguapolitics and be applied in the field of language policy, in the formation of educational programs for specialists in the field of linguistics, cultural studies and international relations.</jats:p>
