Abstract

In the conditions of geopolitical transformations unfolding on the threshold of the 21st century, relations between Armenia and Russia gradually took on a realistic character, which was expressed both in the diversity of the parties' overlapping interests and in the presence of certain differences between them. The latter was a consequence of a number of objective and subjective factors arising from the geopolitical realities existing in the region. Against this background, it was noteworthy that official Yerevan, based on the existence of a threat to the national security of the Republic of Armenia from Turkey, emphasized the importance of deepening military-political cooperation with Moscow. Especially since the Russian Federation's policy in the region generally provided positive systemic factors for the implementation of the Republic of Armenia's foreign policy.
