Abstract

<jats:p>This article explores an urban social movement in contemporary Armenian society, focusing on the "Save the African Club Building" movement. It discusses the general charac-teristics of urban movements and analyzes the development of this particular case in the con-text of Armenia’s modern society. Key social factors behind the movement’s emergence are examined, including construction-driven disruption of the urban environment, the reinforcement of national identity, and the awakening of civic consciousness.</jats:p>
