Abstract

In line with its vision of science diplomacy, TÜBA continues to strengthen bilateral relations between countries through scientific and cultural cooperation. Written by TÜBA Honorary Member Prof. Selçuk Esenbel, this work examines the long-standing friendship between Türkiye and Japan from 1873 to 2025 in Turkish, English, and Japanese. The chronology reveals a rich historical legacy spanning from diplomatic contacts to cultural interactions, and from economic partnerships to academic collaborations. It demonstrates how relations between the two countries have evolved over time into a lasting partnership based on mutual trust, solidarity, and multidimensional cooperation. Drawing on comprehensive sources, this study serves as a valuable reference work for researchers, decision-makers, and all readers interested in Turkish-Japanese relations.
