Optimization of binder composition for special-purpose concrete using active experimentation

<jats:p>The paper discusses the results of experimental studies on the ‘ferrochrome slag – liquid glass’ binder composition. The purpose of the study is to optimise the composition and to investigate the impact of various qualitative and quantitative factors on it. The paper presents the results of mathematical planning, data from full-scale experiments, and an assessment of the adequacy of the mathematical model. The authors present calculations of the extremum of the resulting mathematical function in a five-dimensional factorial space and determine the values of the variable factors corresponding to the maximum strength of the ‘ferrochrome slag – liquid glass’ system.</jats:p>
