Abstract
<jats:p>The aim of the article is to present the formal and semantic peculiarities of the legal lexicon of the laws and rules regulating marital-family and hereditary-civil relations in the judicial codes of two brilliant medieval jurists - Mkhitar Gosh and Smbat Sparapet, the knowledge of which ensures a clear and accurate presentation of legal speech in the modern Armenian language in terms of content and language. In order to achieve the goal, we have set the following tasks: to subject the judicial codes of medieval jurists to linguistic examination, to identify formal manifestations of the lexicon of the studied material, to present their development, to compare them with the professional lexicon of the corresponding codes, to identify archaisms, historical terms, as well as viable legal terms of the modern Armenian language.</jats:p>
