Abstract

Older women are one of the fastest-growing groups experiencing homelessness in Australia. With more than 100,000 women aged over 45 in Queensland, at risk of homelessness, there is an urgent need for targeted, gender-responsive housing and support services. This briefing note presents interim findings from QUT’s evaluation of Footprint’s Housing Older Women’s Support Service (HOWSS), which supports women over 50, and First Nations women over 45, to secure and sustain suitable housing.
