Abstract

<jats:p>This article examines the role of book museums as an important institution for the preservation of cultural and spiritual heritage. The historical background of the emergence of book museums, their functions and spheres of activity are analyzed. Special attention is paid to the book museums of Armenia, in particular, the Matenadaran, as an outstanding center of manuscript and book heritage. It is shown that book museums not only preserve material written monuments, but also fulfill an educational, educational and scientific mission, adapting to modern technological and cultural challenges.</jats:p>
