<jats:p>A review of the production Oblomov, staged by Andrey Prikotenko at the Alexandrinsky Theatre, with Ivan Trus in the title role. The author describes the key scenes and spatial arrangement of the production, analyses the director’s metaphors, and concludes that Prikotenko continues to develop themes first articulated in his earlier works in St Petersburg, once again exploring the nature of Russian melancholia.</jats:p>
