Abstract
Objective This study aims to identify and prioritize the critical factors influencing health vulnerability caused by climate change in Türkiye, thereby contributing to evidence-based policy development processes. Ultimately, it seeks to support decision-making in climate-health interactions, ensure efficient resource allocation, and facilitate the formulation of policies aimed at protecting public health. Materials and Methods: The criteria determining the health impacts of climate change were identified through an extensive literature review and expert opinions from specialists in the field. These criteria were analyzed based on expert evaluations, and their relative importance weights were calculated using the Improved Fuzzy SWARA method, one of the multi-criteria decisionmaking (MCDM) techniques. Results: The analysis identified eight critical criteria that primarily shape the health impacts of climate change in Türkiye. These findings are intended to guide policy development processes on the subject. Evaluations conducted by academic experts and public institution specialists revealed that, consistent with the literature, the highest-priority criterion is temperature among meteorological factors affecting health problems in Türkiye. Conclusions: It is considered that the critical factors influencing health vulnerability due to climate change identified in this study will contribute to policy development processes in Türkiye regarding this issue.
