Abstract

The monograph summarizes and significantly supplements modern scientific and practical data on all stages of production of biopreparations. It provides a modern definition of biotechnology as a science, its structural elements and the theory of systems analysis of biotechnological processes. It examines issues of air purification and sterilization, preparation of seed material and nutrient media, stages of cultivation of microorganisms, animal cells, viruses and bacteria, methods of their isolation and purification, stages of production of biopreparations and serums. The need for this book is due to the profound changes that have occurred in biotechnology over the past three decades. These events are based on new concepts in the field of microbiological synthesis of biologically active substances, methodological, technological and technical improvements that have brought us closer to understanding the transformations of the material substrate and paved the way for industrial innovations. The subject of this book is the identification of biotechnology as an independent section of biology, a characteristic feature of which is an ever-increasing mastery of biological processes.
