Abstract
The subject of this paper is the semantic feature analysis of the lexemes moć and nemoć, based on the processing of these two units in the dictionary of SASA. The analysis of the antonymic-paradigmatic lexical relation that can be established between them, as well as the partial determination of their word-formation potential were also carried out. These two lexemes were also analyzed as elements of formation of other words (basis of word formation). The research revealed several word formation models forming derivatives: moća, moćan, moćina, moćnik, moćnica, moćništvo, moćno (adjective and adverb), moćnost, nemoćan, nemoćati, nemoćije, nemoćnik, nemoćnikovica, nemoćnikov, nemoćnica, nemoćnjički (adjective and adverb), nemoćništvo, nemoćno (adjective and adverb), nemoćnost. All these lexemes have in their structures one of two nouns as a motivational, directly or indirectly. Based on an insight into the material of the dictionary of SASA, it can be stated that the lexemes moć and nemoć have a polysemantic structure consisting of six realizations, each of which has submeanings (subdefinitions) and corresponding expressions. Antonymy as a paradigmatic lexical relation of these two lexemes, is based on these oppositions: (1) presence / absence; (2) possess / not possess; and (3) (major, significant) representation / (minor, slight) representation. Considering the selected material from the dictionary of SASA, which has a smaller scope, these word-forming processes were determined: suffixation, word formation with suffix and prefix, and conversion. In suffixation, suffixes such as -a, -an, -ije, -ina, -nik, -ski, -stvo are added to the noun base and suffixes such as -ik, -ica, -ost are added to the adjective base. The simultaneous use of suffixes and prefixes implies the construction of words with the prefix ne- and the suffix -ø or -an which are added to the noun base. The adverbs moćno, nemoćnjički and nemoćno are formed by conversion.
