Abstract
<jats:p>Vor dem Hintergrund des Begriffs der spirituellen Uebung seit Antike und Christentum, untersucht der Beitrag den Gebrauch mediatativer Formen und Motive in den Gefaengnis-Romanen von Emmy Hennings. Dabei zeigt sich eine besondere Naehe zum fabulierenden Erzaehlen. Der Beitrag eroertert die fuer Hennings grundlegende Spannung zwischen Romanform und meditativen Verfahren. Against the backdrop of the concept of spiritual exercises in antiquity and the Christian era, this contribution explores the use of forms and motifs of meditation in the novels of incarceration by Emmy Hennings. Particularly important in this context is the affinity between meditation and narrative fabulation. The contribution discusses the tension between the form of the novel and the meditative procedures as it is characteristic for Hennings' works.</jats:p>
