Abstract
<jats:p>Die nationalistische Rechte in der alten Bundesrepublik gilt gemeinhin als randständige, weithin einflusslose politische Subkultur. Dieser Beitrag zeigt am Beispiel von Werner Naumann und Paul Dickopf, dass das "nationale Milieu" die politische Entwicklung sehr wohl beeinflussen konnte, namentlich im Zuge der so genannten Naumann-Verschwörung um 1952/53 und der Spiegel-Affäre im Jahr 1962. Beide vermeintlich gut bekannten Ereignisse werden in dem Beitrag einer neuen Betrachtung unterzogen und in ihrer zeithistorischen Bedeutung neu gewichtet. The nationalist right in the Bonn Republic is generally regarded as a marginal, largely insignificant political subculture. Using the examples of Werner Naumann and Paul Dickopf, this article shows that the “national milieu” was, on the contrary, capable of influencing political developments, notably in the wake of the so-called Naumann conspiracy around 1952/53 and the Spiegel affair in 1962. Both of these supposedly well-known events are re-examined in this article and re-evaluated in terms of their significance for German contemporary history.</jats:p>
