Abstract
<jats:p>Surgical site infections (SSIs) constitute the primary complication after complex spinal osteotomy surgeries which include pedicle subtraction osteotomy (PSO) and vertebral column resection (VCR) because these procedures require extended surgical times and result in deep tissue damage and substantial blood loss which heighten operational hazards. This research created a predictive framework that uses artificial intelligence to forecast surgical site infection (SSI) risks through analysis of perioperative data from two hospitals which treated 2500 patients between 2015 and 2025. The overall SSI incidence reached 8.4% while VCR showed higher infection rates at 13% than PSO which had 5.3% infection rate. The study found that hypoalbuminemia excessive blood loss and prolonged surgical duration together with obesity and diabetes and VCR surgery functioned as independent risk factors.</jats:p>
