Abstract
<jats:p>Cinema represents an art form that both feeds on the society from which it emerges and, in turn, plays a role in shaping it. The themes addressed in films and the characters presented reflect and mold the society they originate from. Therefore, the presentation of journalistic identity through cinema—a medium that constructs and reflects the cultural codes of society—carries significant importance. This study, which aims to interpret journalistic identity through cinema, focuses on Turkey during the 1960s and 1970s. Within the scope of the study, the objective is to identify how the identity of the journalist is presented in the film İstanbul Tatili, one of the significant productions of the period; from which perspectives the profession is idealized; and how news factors are reflected on the silver screen. In accordance with the research, all scenes in the film related to newspapers and journalism were first identified and subsequently examined using the semiotic analysis method.</jats:p>
