Abstract

This chapter explores the potential of human-computer interaction (HCI) and the use of information and communication tools (ICT) embedded in social media platforms to empower human resources in the context of higher education in Russia and China. It investigates how digital learning environments, supported by HCI technologies, contribute to the development of students' digital competencies, self-directed learning, and engagement. The findings highlight the effectiveness of social media-driven interaction in enhancing communication between students and educators, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, and increasing motivation. The chapter also addresses challenges related to privacy, digital literacy, and institutional adaptation. The authors conclude that incorporating HCI through familiar digital tools plays a key role in shaping modern educational practices and preparing students for the demands of the digital labor market.
